Local whiteboard data

The account-free whiteboard stores board documents, imported images, and PDF files in this browser's local storage. Vertexa does not upload that content to a Vertexa account or cloud workspace.

Browser storage

Clearing site data, using private browsing, or losing access to this browser profile can remove local boards. Keep independent copies of important source files.

Technical diagnostics

Vertexa uses privacy-focused aggregate page analytics from Vercel and random anonymous visitor and session identifiers for product analytics. This helps us understand page visits, referrers, browser and device categories, approximate region, return sessions, tool categories used, activation, session duration, Plus interest, and compact error categories. These events do not include board text, drawings, pointer coordinates, images, PDF contents, filenames, or document identifiers. Query strings are removed before Vertexa sends page views. Browser Do Not Track and the local analytics opt-out setting disable both analytics systems.

Optional Codex connection

When you choose to connect Codex, OpenAI handles the ChatGPT sign-in and Vertexa stores the resulting Codex credential document encrypted in its private database. It is linked only to a secure, HTTP-only random cookie in this browser; Vertexa does not store the account email returned by Codex. The connection expires after 90 days and is deleted immediately when you disconnect it.

Study requests and the source text you intentionally include are then sent to Codex under your connected ChatGPT plan. Whiteboard content that you do not include in the request is not sent. OpenAI processes those requests under the terms and privacy settings that apply to your account.

Feedback

When you intentionally submit feedback, the message and limited technical context such as browser type and application release are sent to Vertexa support. Board content and imported files are not attached.

Vertexa Plus waitlist

If you join the Plus waitlist, your email address is sent to Vertexa for launch and early-access updates. It is not taken from your board and is submitted only when you complete the waitlist form.

Future cloud services

Accounts, cloud synchronization, billing, and collaboration will require separate disclosures before those services become available.
